Abstract:
This report results from a Doctorate in Education research that thematizes ludicity in
the curriculum of the Pedagogy Program from the Caxias Higher Studies Center at
the State University of Maranhão (CESC/UEMA), linked to the line of research:
Teacher Training, Teaching Work, Educational Theories and Practices, from the
Graduate Program in Education of the Institute of Educational Sciences at the
Federal University of Pará. The central issue is the following question: how can
ludicity contribute to the construction of the teacher formation of the undergraduates
in the Pedagogy Program from CESC/UEMA? For the development of the research,
the following general objective was established: to analyze the contribution of ludicity
in the curriculum of the Pedagogy Program at CESC/UEMA and its possible
implications in the training of early childhood education teachers, followed by the
specific objectives: Identify what has been scientifically produced at a stricto sensu
level in Education about ludicity, curriculum of the pedagogy course and training of
Early Childhood Education teachers, in the Brazilian context; to recognize the
implications that the ludic exerts in the formation of the graduating student of the
Pedagogy Course of CESC/UEMA; to understand how undergraduates of this field
have been appropriating the concept of ludicity in their different formative contexts;
and, to identify, in the Pedagogy Program curriculum, in which courses the ludicity
component is contemplated. It consists of a research with a qualitative approach,
where the theoretical-methodological framework is based on the principles of
Historical-Dialectical Materialism and historical-cultural references, such as Marx
(1988; 2011); Marx and Engels (2007); Kopnin (1978); Vásquez (2007); Kosik
(1976); Lukács (2010); Manacorda (2010); Apple (1982); Giroux (1997); Martins
(2010); Freire (2015); Vygotsky (2001a; 2018); Leontiev (1978; 2001); Elkonin
(2009), among others. The research locus is the Pedagogy Program of CESC/UEMA.
The research subjects were four professors and six undergraduate students from the
Pedagogy Program of CESC/UEMA. The platforms Google Meet® and WhatsApp®
were used as communication channels for the execution of data collection
procedures (questionnaires and semi-structured interviews). As a complement to the
empirical data, a document analysis was performed, and its data were observed
through the use of discourse analysis and dialectical categories (totality, mediation,
praxis, and omni-laterality). The research showed, among other results, that ludicity
is present in the training of the future early childhood education teachers,
undergraduate students at CESC/UEMA, since the last re-elaboration of its Program
Pedagogical Project, the PPCP - 2018. It also showed the theoretical-practical
evolution of the undergraduates regarding the meanings of the term ludicity.
Furthermore, it pointed out the training needs of professors from this center with
regard to the theoretical appropriation of ludicity from the Historical-Cultural Theory
perspective, signaling the need to develop training policies that value these aspects.
The results confirm the defended thesis that ludicity, as a formative component of the
Pedagogy Program curriculum, contributes to the construction of teacher formation,
enabling the graduates to understand that ludic activities develop children in their
multiple dimensions. It is concluded that the research leaves an important legacy to
the Pedagogy Program for being able to contribute to the production of knowledge in
the field of teacher training curriculum, especially, the curriculum of the Pedagogy
Program at CESC/UEMA and the training of the early childhood education teachers,
as it brings, as a highlight, discussions about categories that are fundamental to the
construction of this profession, among which are ludicity, child education, curriculum,
and teacher training, in a historical-cultural perspective, viewing the personal and
professional development of the subjects (teachers, students, and this researcher)
involved in the research.
